on historyguesser.app

HistoryGuesser drops you into a 360 degree scene of a real moment in history. You pin the place on a world map and set the year, and score by how close you get on both. Its Daily Challenge gives every player the same five scenes each day, with a daily board and past days to replay.
About HistoryGuesser
HistoryGuesser mixes the map guessing of GeoGuessr with the date guessing of photo games, using 360 degree scenes of real historical moments instead of flat photographs. You drag to look around and read the clues: buildings, clothes, vehicles, flags and technology. Most of the scenes are reconstructions generated with AI from a described event, place and year, and the site says so plainly on its about page; players can rate each round and weak scenes are retired.
The Daily Challenge is five scenes under a theme of the day, the same set for everyone, with one attempt at each. For every scene you open the map and drop a pin, scored by distance so the right region already earns points, and pick a year anywhere from 3000 BC to today, scored by how near you are. Each round is worth up to 5,000 points, and the day's total goes on a board against every other player. A new set unlocks at midnight UTC, and past dailies stay playable in an archive.
You can play the daily as a guest. Signing in saves your score, builds a streak and puts you on the leaderboards. Outside the daily there are classic runs, runs by country, by century and by theme (music, sport and cinema), community maps, a mode to play the same rounds as someone else, and a party mode and classroom pages for a shared screen. The game and its screens come in English and more than forty other languages.
The game is free and carries ads; a Pro subscription at 3.99 dollars a month or 39.99 a year removes them and adds credits for building your own scenes. It suits anyone who likes GeoGuessr or TimeGuessr and wants a bit of history with the map.
How to play HistoryGuesser

- Open the map and drop a pin where you think the scene took place.
- Set the year on the slider, anywhere from 3000 BC to today, and lock in your guess.
- See how far off you were on place and year, then go on to the next of the five scenes and compare your total on the daily board.

Tips
- Date the scene from technology first: lighting, cars, cameras and weapons narrow the decade fast.
- Writing on signs and shop fronts often gives away the country before the landscape does.
- A pin in the right region still scores well, so commit to a country rather than leaving the pin in the ocean between two guesses.
Questions
Is HistoryGuesser's daily challenge the same for everyone?
Yes. Every player gets the same five scenes each day, with one attempt each, ranked on a daily board.
What time does the HistoryGuesser daily reset?
The next challenge unlocks at midnight UTC.
Do I need an account to play HistoryGuesser?
No. You can play the daily as a guest. An account saves your score and streak and puts you on the leaderboards.
Are the HistoryGuesser scenes real photographs?
