Guess A Word Daily Boss on 29 October 2026 at phone size: the Demon hits for 17 after the guess BOTTLE, with T, T, L and E marked green on a six-letter board

Guess A Word: The Cursed Tower is a free browser word game that mixes Wordle-style guessing with a roguelike tower climb. Each wrong guess lets a monster hit you. The Daily Challenge gives everyone the same boss and the same longer word each day, and the main mode is an endless climb through floors with gold and a shop.

About Guess A Word: The Cursed Tower

Guess A Word: The Cursed Tower is a word-guessing game on itch.io by John G Games. Every puzzle is a monster with a hidden word. You type a guess, and each letter is marked green for the right letter in the right spot or yellow for a right letter in the wrong spot, with six guesses to find the word.

The twist is health. Each wrong guess lets the monster attack, and its damage comes off your hit points; run out of hit points or guesses and you fall. In the main run you climb floor after floor of the Cursed Tower, earn gold for each monster beaten and spend it every five floors at a merchant on potions, shields and one-floor buffs. Three difficulties set the word length: Squire uses 4 to 5 letters, Knight 4 to 6 and Legend 5 to 7.

The Daily Challenge is one boss a day, picked from the date so every player faces the same monster and the same word of six to ten letters (most are six or seven). You start with 200 hit points, there are no revives, and you get one attempt a day. Beating it gives a result to share and adds 200 gold to the start of your next tower run that day.

It runs in the browser on a phone-shaped page and saves your tower run at the start of each floor.

How to play Guess A Word: The Cursed Tower

  1. Press Daily Challenge on the menu to face the day's boss.
  2. Type a word of the length shown on the board and press Enter.
  3. Read the colours: green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the word but elsewhere.
  4. Watch your hit points: every wrong guess lets the boss hit you.
  5. Find the word within six guesses, then share your result.

Tips

  • Your first guesses should cover common letters, since the daily word is longer than a usual Wordle word.
  • Use the keyboard colours to avoid letters already ruled out.
  • Do the daily before starting a tower run: a win adds 200 starting gold to new runs that day.
