Football Connections is Futbolle's daily take on Connections: sixteen footballers with photos and four hidden groups of four to find. Groups share a club, two clubs, a nation, an academy, a trophy or a record, and you choose Easy, Normal or Hard before you start.
About Football Connections (Futbolle)
Each day Football Connections lays out sixteen player cards, each with a photo and a name. They belong to four hidden groups of four, and each group shares one real fact from their careers: a club, two clubs they both played for, a club and a nationality together, a youth academy, a trophy, a record, or sometimes just the same first name.
Before you start you pick a level, and you keep it for the day. Easy is a board of its own, built only from big clubs, big football nations, the World Cup and the Ballon d'Or, with the best-known names. Normal and Hard share today's main board with every kind of group; Normal has no mistake limit, and Hard allows five, with a One away guess counting as one of them.
You select four cards and press Submit. A correct group locks in as a coloured bar with its link named above the four faces; a wrong one counts as a mistake. If three of your four belong together, the game says One away. A Give up button shows the answer at any time, and the game counts as a loss.
The board is built so the obvious link is usually over-full: five players from one club, or six from one country, of whom only four are the group. Club groups tend to be the bait, and two-club or club and nation groups are the hardest to see.
When the game ends you can copy a spoiler-free grid of coloured squares showing the order you found the groups. The game can be played in English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Italian, and a new board arrives at midnight in your own time zone. It suits football fans who know careers beyond the current season.
How to play Football Connections (Futbolle)
- Choose Easy, Normal or Hard; the level stays for the day.
- Look over the sixteen player cards for links: clubs, countries, academies, trophies and records.
- Select four players you think share one link and press Submit.
- A correct group locks in with its link named; a wrong guess is a mistake, and three right shows One away.
- Find all four groups, or press Give up to see them, then copy your result to share.

Tips
- If you can name more than four players for a link, it is probably not the group.
- Club groups are often bait; look for the narrower link first, such as an academy or a trophy.
- For a two-club group, check each player meets both clubs before you submit.
- On Hard a One away guess costs a mistake, so be sure of all four before pressing Submit.
