About Flag Connections (Flagdoku)
Flag Connections is one of the flag games on Flagdoku, played in the browser. It follows the NYT Connections format with flags in place of words: sixteen flags, each labelled with its country, territory or region, and the job of finding the groups of four that belong together.
The twist is the Flag of the Day shown at the top. The instructions ask you to group four flags that share something unique with it, so the day's flag is the starting point for working out the links. On puzzle #122 the Flag of the Day was India, and the board mixed national flags such as Armenia, Germany, Spain, Nigeria and Kazakhstan with Guam, Taiwan and the Scottish county of Aberdeenshire. You select four and press Submit. A wrong group costs one of four mistake dots, and when three of your four are right the game names those three, which helps you close in on the group.
There is a hint button with four hints, a shuffle button and a settings menu with dark mode. The archive lists past puzzles by season, coloured by whether you have finished, started or failed them, with a random pick and a stats view. Players can also build their own puzzles and share them.
It suits players who know their flags, or want to, and like a Connections board that rewards looking closely at colours, symbols and layouts. The page carries ads from a network, but none sit on the board.

Tips
- Study the Flag of the Day closely: its colours, symbols and layout point to the groups.
- Look for features rather than places, such as a star, a crescent, a triangle at the hoist or a coat of arms.
- Use the shuffle button to see the flags in a new order when the grid starts to blur.
- When the game says three of your four were right, keep those three and swap only the fourth.
