Ember Knights is an action roguelite for one to four players by Doom Turtle, published by Twin Sails Interactive. Since its free 2.0 update it has a Daily Dungeon mode, run by a character called The Collector, in which everyone plays the day's dungeon with the same starting equipment and competes on a leaderboard.
About Ember Knights
Ember Knights came out of early access in July 2023 on Steam and Switch, and reached PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in October 2025 as the Heroes of the Nexus Edition, which includes the Wrath of the Architect expansion. You play legendary knights fighting the sorcerer Praxis through procedurally built worlds, using weapons, skills and relics that combine into builds, solo or in online and local co-op.
The Daily Dungeon arrived with the free 2.0 update, alongside Boss Rush and Chaos Run. The Collector, who stands next to where runs start in the Nexus hub, opens the mode. Each day brings one dungeon from a rotation of curated dungeons, and players report that everyone starts with the same equipment, with times compared on a leaderboard (the developers have commented on two-minute speedruns of a daily). You earn a token for taking part and another for winning, spent in The Collector's Token Shop on cosmetics and Ember. A December 2024 patch added 35 new dungeons to the rotation and raised token rewards for the hard ones, and patches in 2025 fixed several Daily Dungeon bugs. The latest update, 2.3.1, came out in April 2026.
The main game has an Ember Tree of permanent upgrades, many weapons and skills, and difficulty modifiers. The paid Wrath of the Architect expansion adds worlds and bosses.
It suits fans of Hades-style action roguelites and groups who want a short shared challenge each day.
How to play Ember Knights
- In the Nexus hub, talk to The Collector next to the run start.
- Choose the Daily Dungeon to start the day's run with its set equipment.
- Fight through the dungeon and beat its boss as fast as you can.
- Collect your tokens and compare your result; a new dungeon comes the next day.
