Baddle
Rate itDeduce balanced battles of letters in a daily run through ancient ruins.
on tumblecricket.net

Baddle is a deduction puzzle wrapped in a short adventure story. Each puzzle is a secret line of letters split by a B into two armies, and every answer must be a fair battle where each side's attack matches the other side's defence. You guess with limited tries, collect coins and power-ups, and go as deep as you can. The Daily Adventure is the same run for everyone and can be started once a day.
About Baddle
Baddle is set in the ruins of an ancient language. Each door you meet hides a Baddle, a line of letters with a B somewhere in the middle. The B stands for the (B)addlefield: letters before it form the left army and letters after it the right army. Each letter is a kind of soldier, such as the (C)annoneer, the (P)ikemaster and the (I)nfantry, with its own attack and defence. A valid answer is always a balanced Baddle, where the left army's attack equals the right army's defence and the other way round.
You guess possible Baddles, and each tile of a guess is coloured as in Wordle: green when the letter is in the right place, gold when it sits elsewhere in the Baddle and grey when it is absent. On top of that, every guess must itself be balanced, or the game will not take it. Wrong guesses are allowed, but you have a limited number (eight on the first door), and running out ends the adventure. Between doors you pick up coins and can buy help. Items reveal where the B sits, narrow down the boss letter, confirm or eliminate letters, or give you extra guesses. Later Baddles bring new letters and harder rules, and the run is framed by a story that unfolds as you go deeper.
The Daily Adventure is numbered by day (Day 1418 on 28 October 2026) and is the same for every player. You can start only one each day. Abandoning it means waiting until tomorrow, and a countdown shows when the next one opens at midnight local time. Standard and Custom adventures can be played at any time, and achievements and higher Heat levels unlock as you progress. Baddle came out in December 2022, and version 1.1.0 in August 2024 added the Heat challenge tiers. The game is made for a desktop or laptop with a keyboard, and on a phone it shows a notice saying so.
Baddle suits players who enjoy logic and deduction games and do not mind a longer daily session.

Tips
- Before guessing, check that your line is balanced, since the game refuses an unbalanced guess and explains why.
- Find where the B sits early, since it decides the size of each army.
- Save coins for the deeper doors, where the puzzles get harder.
- Do not abandon the Daily Adventure by accident: you cannot start another until tomorrow.
