on duolockgame.net

DUOLOCK is a free daily code-breaking game from the makers of Padlock and Alphalock. Every guess is scored against two hidden answers at once, and small blocks beside each board count how many letters or digits are right without saying which. Each day brings a pair of four-letter words and two pairs of four-digit codes.
About DUOLOCK
DUOLOCK is the third daily puzzle from Fun Thinking Limited, the small family team behind the number game Padlock and the word game Alphalock. It takes their Mastermind-style feedback and adds a second hidden answer, so every guess you type goes on two boards at once and is scored separately on each.
The home page is Four Letter DUOLOCK: two hidden four-letter words and 12 goes to find both. After each guess, four mini blocks beside each board turn green for a letter in the right place, yellow for a letter in the answer but elsewhere, and grey for the rest. The blocks do not say which letter they refer to, so the work is in reasoning out which letters earned them, across both boards at once.
Two number modes run on the same day's clock. Four Digit DUOLOCK hides two four-digit codes with the same mini-block counts and 12 goes. Basic Four Digit DUOLOCK is the gentler version: 6 goes, and the digits themselves change colour, as in Padlock.
The puzzles are numbered from 1 May 2024 and the same for every player. A settings switch picks whether the next game starts at midnight UTC or at your local midnight, and there are light, dark and high-contrast themes, statistics with a streak, and a shareable result. The game has no ads and no sign-up; a heart button leads to optional donations. It suits players who like Mastermind and bulls-and-cows deduction more than Wordle's direct colour hints.
How to play DUOLOCK
- Pick a mode from the menu: Four Letter, Four Digit or Basic Four Digit.
- Type a four-letter word (or four digits) on the keyboard and press Enter.
- Read the mini blocks beside each board: green counts letters in the right place, yellow counts letters in that answer but elsewhere.
- Work out which letters earned each count, and use the next guess to test your ideas on both boards.
- Find both answers within the goes allowed (12, or 6 in Basic), then share your result.

Tips
- The mini blocks are not in the order of your letters: treat them as counts only.
- Guess words with four new letters early to learn which letters are in each answer.
- A letter that scores on one board and not on the other narrows both answers at once.
- Click a letter on the keyboard to highlight it as a reminder of letters you think are in the puzzle.
Questions
When does DUOLOCK reset?
At midnight UTC or at your local midnight: the settings let you choose, and a countdown shows when the next game starts.
How many goes do you get?
12 in Four Letter and Four Digit DUOLOCK, and 6 in Basic Four Digit DUOLOCK.
Do the mini blocks show which letter is right?
No. They count how many letters are in the right place and how many are in the answer elsewhere, but not which ones. Only the Basic number mode colours the digits themselves.
Who makes DUOLOCK?
Fun Thinking Limited, the makers of Padlock and Alphalock.
Does DUOLOCK have ads?
No. The game shows no ads and needs no account; there is an optional donation button.
