Daily Jingle on 29 October 2026 after one guess: C E G A D in the top row, D green, E and A yellow, C and G gray, above the C to B note keyboard

Daily Jingle is a melody guessing game in the style of Wordle. Each day there is a new five-note tune; you enter notes on a chromatic keyboard and each tile turns green, yellow or gray to show how close you are. Its companion game, Jingle Shower, is another daily ear training puzzle.

About Daily Jingle

Daily Jingle is a music ear-training game played like Wordle, but with notes instead of letters. Each day there is one short melody, the same for everyone. You press Play Today's Melody to hear it, then try to reproduce it by entering notes, and the game colours each guess to show how close you were.

The answer is a five-note tune, and you get five tries. Instead of a letter keyboard you use a chromatic one, with every note from C up through B (C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, A#, B), plus Enter and Delete. After you submit a row, each tile turns green when the note is correct and in the right position, yellow when the note is in the melody but in a different spot, and gray when it is not in the melody at all. You can replay the melody as you work.

It is a short daily warm-up aimed at training your ear to pick out pitches, and it is part of a small suite: a companion game, Jingle Shower, is another daily ear-training puzzle on a sister site. Both are free to play in the browser.

It suits musicians and music students practising relative pitch, and anyone who enjoys the daily Wordle format and wants to train their ear.

How to play Daily Jingle

  1. Press Play Today's Melody to hear the day's five-note tune.
  2. Enter five notes using the chromatic keyboard (C through B), then press Enter.
  3. Read the colours: green is the right note in the right place, yellow is a note that is in the melody elsewhere, gray is not in it.
  4. Replay the melody and use the clues to adjust your next guess.
  5. Name the whole melody within five tries.

Tips

  • Replay the melody several times before your first guess to fix the pitches and the shape in your head.
  • Hum or sing the tune and compare it against single notes on the keyboard to find the starting note.
  • Use yellow tiles as strong hints: that note is in the melody, so try moving it to another position.
  • Listen for repeated notes; a tune that reuses a pitch narrows the options quickly.

Questions

How many notes and tries are there?

The melody is five notes long and you have five tries.

What do the colours mean?

Green: correct note in the correct position. Yellow: the note is in the melody but in a different position. Gray: the note is not in the melody.

Can I hear the melody more than once?

Yes. You can replay the day's melody while you work on your guesses.

What is Jingle Shower?

A companion daily ear-training game on a sister site, part of the same Daily Jingle suite.

Is it free?

Yes, it is free to play in the browser.

When does a new melody come out?

At midnight on your own device's clock. The game counts days from a fixed start date and picks that day's five notes from the day's number.
