Bollywoodle's Lyricle #90 with the year hint 2018: the first translated lyric line, Why have you become so upset? What is your stubbornness about?, shown 1 of 6

Bollywoodle is a set of three daily Bollywood music puzzles. Heardle plays short clips of a song, Lyricle reveals its Hindi lyrics one translated line at a time, and Musicle plays isolated instrument stems; in each you name the song.

About Bollywoodle

Bollywoodle brings the Heardle idea to Hindi film music, in three daily modes that each give you a different way into the same kind of answer: a Bollywood song.

Heardle plays a short clip of the day's song and lengthens it after each wrong guess or skip, with six tries in all. Lyricle shows the song's Hindi lyrics translated into English, one line at a time, up to six lines, with the year of release as a hint; the puzzle we played, Lyricle #90, opened with Why have you become so upset? What is your stubbornness about?, from 2018. Musicle splits the song into separate tracks, drums, bass, melody and humming, and also offers the artists and the film as clues, and asks you to recognise the song from them.

All three are numbered dailies, the same for every player, turning over at midnight India time. There is a leaderboard, streaks, an archive of past days and a party mode for playing with friends. The daily plays in the browser with no sign-up, and there is also an Android app on Google Play. It was shared on Show HN in August 2026.

It suits Bollywood fans who know the soundtracks and want a daily test of ear and memory.

How to play Bollywoodle

  1. Open bollywoodle.app and pick Heardle, Lyricle or Musicle.
  2. In Heardle, press Play, listen to the clip and type the song or film; each miss or skip plays a longer clip.
  3. In Lyricle, read the translated line and guess, or press Reveal next line; each miss shows another line, up to six.
  4. In Musicle, play the drums, bass, melody and humming tracks, open the artists or film clue if you need it, and name the song.
  5. Solve within six tries, or give up to see the answer, and come back after midnight IST for the next one.

Tips

  • Use the year hint in Lyricle to narrow the film before guessing.
  • In Musicle, the humming or melody track usually gives the song away fastest; save the artists and film clues for last.
  • Play all three modes; a song you miss by ear may be easy from its lyrics.
  • Missed a day? Past puzzles are in the archive.
