A free jigsaw of the day, usually a famous painting, in one of six difficulty levels.

on dailyjigsawpuzzles.net

Daily Jigsaw Puzzles board for 18 October 2026: the pieces of Pieter Aertsen's Market Scene scattered around an empty frame, with the timer and controls

Daily Jigsaw Puzzles adds a new dated Puzzle of the Day every day, most often a well-known painting with a short note about it, and otherwise a landscape, flower, animal or food photo. You pick one of six difficulty levels and whether pieces rotate, then solve it in the browser against a timer, beside a large free gallery of jigsaws.

About Daily Jigsaw Puzzles (dailyjigsawpuzzles.net)

DailyJigsawPuzzles.net is a free jigsaw site built around a Puzzle of the Day. Each day a new picture is added with its date. In autumn 2026 most were paintings, such as Pieter Aertsen's Market Scene of 1569 on 18 October, still lifes, village fairs and rural landscapes, and every few days the pick is a photo instead: a valley, roses in a vase, a basket of strawberries, a mother animal with its young. Each comes with a paragraph about the picture and what to look for as you put it together. Earlier days stay in the gallery.

Pressing Play opens the jigsaw on its own page. You choose a difficulty from Very Easy to Extra Hard, which sets the number of pieces, and whether pieces are randomly rotated; a rotated piece turns with a double click or tap, or the space key while you drag it. The pieces start scattered around an empty frame, and a timer runs at the top. There are buttons to zoom, show the picture, sort pieces and go fullscreen, and you can change the background colour. Each puzzle keeps best, average and leaderboard times for every difficulty.

Beside the daily puzzle there is a large gallery of themed jigsaws, from animals and landscapes to abstract patterns, food and holiday pictures, and a puzzle maker for your own images. The site is free and needs no account to play, but it carries ads: banners around the puzzle and a full-screen ad before the jigsaw opens. It suits jigsaw players who like a relaxed daily habit with a small art lesson on the side.

How to play Daily Jigsaw Puzzles (dailyjigsawpuzzles.net)

  1. Open dailyjigsawpuzzles.net and press Play on the Puzzle of the Day.
  2. Close the ad if one shows, then choose a difficulty level and whether pieces rotate.
  3. Drag pieces into the frame and join them where they fit; double tap a piece or press space while dragging to turn it.
  4. Use the picture button to check the image, and zoom or sort pieces when the board gets crowded.
  5. Finish the picture to stop the timer, then read about it or go back to earlier days.

Tips

  • Sort edge pieces first; they give you the frame.
  • Group pieces by colour and texture, such as sky, water or foliage.
  • Turn rotation off for a quicker, gentler puzzle.
