Puzzle 672: a 5x5 crossword grid with across and down clues in Japanese and the how-to-play panel

Puzzlega.me's daily crossword is a small Japanese grid filled in katakana. Solve the across and down clues against the clock; each numbered puzzle is the same for everyone and a new one appears at midnight Japan time.

About Crossword / 無料クロスワード (Puzzlega.me)

This is the daily crossword on Puzzlega.me, a Japanese site of free browser word and logic games that also runs a Japanese Spelling Bee and a picture crossword. The site pitches it as a five-minute brain workout for a work break or a commute.

Each puzzle is a small grid, five by five on the day we checked, with across (ヨコのカギ) and down (タテのカギ) clues. Answers are written in katakana, and small kana such as ッ or ャ are entered as their full-size forms. You can type with a flick keyboard on a phone, a compact on-screen keyboard or romaji on a physical keyboard, and a timer records how long you take.

Puzzles are numbered (number 672 when we looked) and released every day at 0:00 Japan time, so everyone solves the same grid. Past days are kept in an archive with your results and streak.

It suits Japanese speakers and learners who want a short daily crossword, and is a gentle way to practise katakana.
