Cluno for Monday, October 19, 2026 on a desktop: the first two clues shown after a wrong guess, mask, with 3 points still available

Cluno is a daily word riddle about an everyday object. You see one clue and guess the word; each wrong guess reveals another, plainer clue, up to four. Solving from the first clue keeps all 4 points, and each extra clue costs one.

About Cluno

Cluno is a small daily word puzzle that runs in the browser. Every day there is one answer, always a physical object such as a piano, a rake or a snorkel, and four clues that lead to it. Everyone gets the same word on the same date.

The first clue is the vaguest and reads like a riddle: Lets you breathe while looking the other way. Each wrong guess uncovers the next clue, and they grow more literal as they go, from a description of its shape to where you would use it, until the last one nearly names it. A pill at the top shows how many points are still available: 4 if you get it from the first clue, down to 1 if you need all four. Your earlier guesses stay listed under the box.

The result can be shared as the clues you used and the points you kept, without the answer. The game plays with no account; a free account saves your streak and stats across devices and puts you on a weekly leaderboard. There are no ads on the page.

It takes a minute or two and suits anyone who likes riddles and quick guessing games more than letter puzzles.

How to play Cluno

Tips

  • Read the first clue literally and as wordplay; it is written as a riddle.
  • The answer is always a physical object you could hold or point at, so think of things, not ideas.
  • A wrong guess costs a point, so use the first clue to rule things out before you type.
  • Plurals are treated like the singular, so do not worry about a trailing s.
