on puzzmo.com

Circuits is a daily compound-word puzzle on Puzzmo. Each empty box takes one word, and that word has to join every clue and box connected to it by an arrow, so the whole board locks together like a circuit. A new board comes out every day, the same for everyone.
About Circuits
Circuits is a Puzzmo daily designed by Jacob Land, a middle school math and English teacher from New Jersey who says the idea came from watching his students' aha moments. Each day's board is credited to a constructor and an editor: the board of 21 October 2026 was by Matthew Stock and edited by Madeline Kaplan.
The board is a set of boxes joined by arrows. Grey boxes hold clue words, sometimes with a small emoji as a nudge, and white numbered boxes are empty. Each arrow means the two words make a term when read in its direction, left to right or top to bottom: lip then stick makes lipstick, fat then lip makes fat lip. An empty box has exactly one answer, and it must work with every arrow that touches it, so one word may have to follow a clue above it, follow the box on its left and lead into a clue below.
You type a word into a box and submit it; a wrong word does not fit and you try again. If you are stuck, a Bolt reveals one letter of a box, at a cost to your score, and you can press Use Bolt or drag a Bolt onto a box. Puzzmo times you, and after the board it shows your points against other players of the day. Solving one box often hands you the next, since the answer you found becomes a clue for its neighbours.
It suits people who like word association, compound words and crossword fill, and want a short puzzle with one right answer per box. The daily is free to play without an account; Puzzmo Plus, a subscription, opens the archive of past boards and removes the ads.
How to play Circuits
- Open today's Circuits at puzzmo.com/play/circuits or in the Puzzmo app.
- Read the clue boxes and follow the arrows into and out of each numbered empty box.
- Pick an empty box and think of one word that makes a term with every word on its arrows, in each arrow's direction.
- Type the word and press Submit; a word that fits locks in and becomes a clue for the boxes next to it.
- Fill every box to close the circuit, using a Bolt to reveal a letter only if you are stuck.

Tips
- Start with the box that has the most arrows on fixed clue words; more links narrow it down fastest.
- Say each pair aloud in the direction of the arrow, since 'file cabinet' works and 'cabinet file' does not.
- Watch the emoji beside a clue: it hints at the sense of the word you need.
- An answer you find is a clue for the next box, so work outward from the first one you solve.
- Try without Bolts first, since each one costs points.
