Storyboard on desktop for 27 October 2026: six numbered frames from the day's film, waiting to be put in order

Storyboard is one of the daily games on Actorle. Each day it shows six frames from a film it does not name, and you drag them into the order they come in the film, with six tries to get it right. The title and year appear at the end. It suits people who remember how a story unfolds, even before they know which story it is.

About Actorle Storyboard

Storyboard is one of the daily games on Actorle, the actor-guessing site made by László Kiss, alongside Fill The Grid, StarWords and Cinections. Most film dailies ask you to name a hidden film. Storyboard keeps the film hidden too, but it asks for something else: the order things happen in.

Each day you get six frames from the film of the day, shuffled and numbered. You drag them into the order you think they appear and press Make a guess. Frames that are right, counting from the first one, lock in with a green tick, so each try narrows the problem to the frames still loose. If the first frame is wrong, the game says so. You have six guesses in all. When you finish or give up, the game shows the film's title and year. The frames come from Shotdeck, a library of film stills.

The puzzle changes at midnight on your own device's clock, and past days sit in a free archive. The Actorle app for iPhone and iPad carries the same daily Storyboard. Groups let friends play together, either racing each other or solving one shared board. Actorle Plus, an optional membership, removes the site's ads. The daily puzzle is free.

A round often takes a couple of minutes. Spotting the film early helps a lot, but careful looking at daylight, clothes and injuries can carry you through a film you have never seen. If you would rather name a film from its frames, Framed is the closer match.

How to play Actorle Storyboard

  1. Open today's Storyboard: six frames from an unnamed film are shown in a shuffled order.
  2. Drag the frames into the order you think they appear in the film.
  3. Press Make a guess to submit the order.
  4. Frames in the right place, counting from the first, lock in with a green tick. Rearrange the rest and guess again.
  5. Get the full order within six guesses. The film's title and year are then shown, and you can share your result.

Tips

  • Settle the first frame early: it locks in and makes every later guess easier.
  • Look at costumes, injuries, daylight and setting, since a character's look often changes through a film.
  • If you recognise the film, think through its plot beat by beat before you drag anything.
  • Missed a day? Try another date from the archive.
