on actorle.com

StarWords is Actorle's daily actor crossword. Each row of the grid is an actor's name, clued by a film, a role, a quote or a drawing, and the letters lined up down the middle spell the mystery actor of the day. You have ten minutes to find them.
About StarWords
StarWords is one of the daily games on Actorle, the site best known for guessing an actor from their hidden filmography. Here the format is a small crossword. Every horizontal row is the name of an actor, and the column where the rows line up spells a further name: the mystery actor of the day, which is what you are really after.
The clues for each row come in four kinds: a film the actor appeared in, a notable role they played, a well-known line from one of their films, or a drawing of the actor's face. You can fill the cells in any order, and hints are available for each clue, but the whole puzzle runs against a ten-minute clock. The game ends when you find the mystery actor or the time runs out.
The puzzle changes at local midnight, with a countdown to the next one on the results screen. Results can be shared, and your streak is kept. Past puzzles are in a calendar archive, free to play. Actorle Plus, the site's paid option, removes ads and can repair a missed day in a streak. StarWords is also in the Actorle app for iPhone and iPad, with the same daily puzzles as the website.
StarWords suits film fans who know faces and quotes as well as names, and who like a short crossword with a single answer at its centre.

Tips
- Start with the clues you know at once; the letters they place in the middle column often give the mystery actor away early.
- Quote and drawing clues are usually harder, so leave them until crossing letters help.
- Keep an eye on the clock: ten minutes covers the whole grid, not each clue.
- If you liked a day's puzzle, the archive has earlier ones to play.
