Today's Word Zip board on desktop: two purple pools of five letters (A, E, L, S, V and Y, I, L, C, R) with counts on each tile, Zip and shuffle buttons, a Hint button and 0/45 words

Word Zip splits a secret ten-letter word into two pools of letters. You build words of four to ten letters by taking letters alternately from one pool and then the other, and zip them in to score. Numbers on each letter show how many remaining words start with it or use it, and hints recharge as you play.

About Word Zip

Word Zip is a daily word game from WFH Games. Each puzzle starts from a secret ten-letter word whose letters are divided between two pools, shown on the left and right of the screen.

You build words by alternating: one letter from one pool, the next from the other, and so on, like the teeth of a zip. Words must be four to ten letters long and come from a curated Scrabble dictionary. When a word is ready you press Zip or Return to score it; Space shuffles the letters, Delete removes one and Esc clears the word.

Each letter carries two small numbers: how many remaining words start with it and how many more times it appears. A hint meter fills as you find words (more for bonus words and the full ten-letter word), and each hint reveals part of a remaining word; you start with one and can save up to three.

A new puzzle arrives at midnight Eastern time. It suits players who like Spelling Bee and Squaredle-style word hunts with an extra constraint.

Tips

  • Try starting from both pools; a word that fails one way may work the other.
  • Watch the start counts on letters; a zero means no remaining word begins there.
  • Go for the ten-letter word early; it earns the most hint points.
