Word Slicer is a daily word puzzle with five columns of letters and a blue bar across them. You slide the columns so one letter from each sits under the bar, then press Slice: green means you have found one of the five hidden words. Its motto is 5 letters, 5 words, 5 minutes.
About Word Slicer
Word Slicer's board is five vertical strips of letters, each a different length, with a blue Slicer running across the middle. On a phone you swipe the strips up and down; on a computer you click a letter to bring it to the bar or drag the column. The five letters under the bar are spelled out below the board, and when they make a word you press Slice. If the Slicer turns green, you have found one of the day's five hidden words and it fills one of the five blanks; if it turns red, that word is not one of them.
Letters are not used up, so the same letters can appear in several of the hidden words. The answers are everyday dictionary words: common nouns, verbs in their base form and adjectives, with no proper nouns, abbreviations or plurals. A timer runs, and your star rating depends on how quickly you find the words: under a minute earns a bonus star, five minutes or more costs one. There is no game over, so you can take as long as you like, and some puzzles offer a hint that shows which letters are used.
A new Daily Slicer comes out at midnight UTC and the daily leaderboard resets with it. You can play the daily without an account; a free account, made with an emailed code rather than a password, keeps your streak across devices, puts your name on the leaderboard, earns badges and opens the archive of past puzzles. A Free Play mode gives extra puzzles beyond the daily one, and results can be shared without spoilers.
The game is free, with no ads and no subscription. It can be played in English or Danish, switched from the flag at the top, and it installs on a phone as a web app. It suits players who like Typeshift's sliding columns but want a short, fixed target of five words each day.

Tips
- Start with the short columns: they have fewer letters, so fewer choices.
- Remember letters are reused, so a letter in one word can appear in another.
- Skip plurals and names: the hidden words are base dictionary forms.
- Look for common endings on the last column, such as E, Y or T.
