on wonderhop.io

Wonderhop is a free daily word game played in the browser. Each day brings four games of seven prompts, and you type one answer to each against a 30-second clock. Your answers are scored against what every other player wrote that day, so the same prompt can ask you to think like the crowd or to get away from it.
About Wonderhop
Wonderhop is a browser game built around short prompts such as "Name a dish you eat with chopsticks". You type one answer and the game compares it with the answers everyone else gave to the same prompt. What counts as a good answer depends on which of the day's four games you are in.
In Sky you want the most common answer: the more players gave it, the higher your balloon climbs. In Abyss you want an answer that is right but rare, and the fewer people thought of it, the deeper your diver sinks. Past and Future ask for the oldest or the most recent answer to the prompt, and each good answer moves you through the centuries. Each game has seven questions worth up to 100 points each, for a score out of 700, with 30 seconds a question and 40 in the Abyss.
The questions are the same for every player each day, which is what makes the scoring work. A new set arrives at midnight Montréal time, and the home screen keeps your streak and a leaderboard. It is drawn in pixel art, with a rabbit riding a hot-air balloon above the sea and diving below it.
The game is made by SepiaLab in Montréal and can be played in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Turkish. The four daily games are free and need no account. An optional Hop Pass, paid once or by the month, opens an Unlimited mode with more than 1,000 questions, an archive of the last 30 days and themed packs on subjects such as sport, music and world food. It suits players who like survey games in the style of Family Feud, and those who enjoy hunting for the one answer nobody else thought of.
How to play Wonderhop
- Open Wonderhop and choose one of the day's four games: Sky, Abyss, Past or Future.
- Read the prompt at the top of the screen and note what the game wants: the most common, the rarest, the oldest or the most recent answer.
- Type your answer in the box and press Submit before the timer runs out (30 seconds, or 40 in the Abyss).
- See how your answer scored against the other players' answers, up to 100 points.
- Go through all seven prompts for a score out of 700, then play the day's other games.

Tips
- In Sky, give the first, plainest answer that comes to mind; clever answers lose points there.
- In Abyss, an answer still has to fit the prompt, so think of a real but less obvious example rather than a joke.
- In Past and Future, think of when each possible answer first appeared before you type.
