Rate itChain films through their actors, against the clock or in five moves.
on typecasted.xyz

Typecasted is a free daily movie trivia site with two modes. In Endless you start from the day's film and keep linking film to actor to film, with 20 seconds for each link; in Make the Cut you connect the day's two films through shared cast in five moves or fewer, with no clock. Both have daily leaderboards, and past Make the Cut pairs are in an archive.
About Typecasted
Typecasted is a daily film game built on the six degrees idea, with two modes that use the same links in different ways. It started with its first Make the Cut pair, La La Land to Catch Me If You Can, on 14 March 2026, and has put out a new pair every day since. Film data and posters come from TMDB.
Endless gives every player the same seed film. You name an actor who was in it, then another film that actor was in, then another actor from that film, and so on, with no repeats. Each guess has a 20 second clock that resets with every correct link, and your score is the length of your chain when time runs out.
Make the Cut gives every player the same start film and end film, often two films with something in common: Troy and Alexander, Bad Boys and Rush Hour, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Knight and Day. There is no clock. You pick an actor from the start film, then a film of theirs, and the board counts down the moves you have left; reach the end film in five moves or fewer and you have made the cut. The end card shows the best possible number of moves, and there is an Undo button for a wrong turn. Afterwards the game shows the shortest path and how other players solved that day's pair.
Names and titles are typed with a search box that suggests actors and films with their photos and posters, so spelling is not the hard part: knowing who was in what is. Both modes have daily leaderboards, and an optional account keeps your streak, history and stats. It suits players who know cast lists well, and anyone who wants a quick timed film game next to a slower puzzle.
How to play Typecasted
- Open Typecasted and choose Endless or Make the Cut.
- In Endless, name an actor from the day's seed film, then another film of theirs, and keep the chain going.
- Beat the 20 second clock on each link; it resets after every correct answer, and no film or actor may repeat.
- In Make the Cut, type an actor from the start film and pick them from the suggestions, then name another film they were in.
- Keep alternating actors and films until you reach the end film, using Undo to step back from a dead end.
- Reach the end film in five moves or fewer to make the cut, then compare your path with the shortest one.

Tips
- In Endless, keep a few prolific actors in mind as safe links when the clock is low.
- Avoid steering an Endless chain into one-off actors with short filmographies.
- In Make the Cut, look for an actor who works in both films' decades and genres before you start.
- Ensemble films with large casts make good middle steps.
- The Best badge on the end film tells you the shortest path, so plan for that many moves before your first pick.
Questions
Is Typecasted free?
Yes. It is a free browser game with no ads, and both modes play without an account. An account only keeps your streak, history and leaderboard place.
When do the Typecasted puzzles change?
The site says both modes reset at midnight each day; it does not name a time zone.
Can I play past puzzles?
Yes, for Make the Cut: its archive lists every pair since #1 on 14 March 2026. Endless has no archive.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. On a phone the board fills the screen, with the search box at the bottom and tabs for Games, Leaderboard and Stats.
