The Daily: Puzzles & Games (Luke Duncan)

Rate it

Eight bite-size word and logic puzzles a day, drawn in a bold comic style.

on dailypuzzle.co

The Daily Cluster board on an iPhone: seven letter tiles around a yellow C, the word SCENES being typed, found words such as Came and Casa, and a Rookie rank bar.

The Daily, shown in the app as Daily, is a set of eight small word and logic games for iPhone with a new lineup every day. You find words in a 7-letter cluster, guess a secret word in six tries, sort words into connected groups, join coloured pairs, slide cars to the exit and fill a 5x5 crossword, among others. Each day's puzzles are dated, and Premium opens the archive.

About The Daily: Puzzles & Games (Luke Duncan)

The eight games are short and varied. Cluster asks you to find every word in a 7-letter cluster, shown as six tiles around a highlighted centre tile, with ranks from Rookie upward. Secret is a hidden word to guess in six attempts. Lights asks you to find the critical path that turns off every light. Weave gives you sixteen words to sort into groups by the thread that connects them, with four lives. Circuit connects each coloured pair, Scramble is four minutes to find as many words as you can, Traffic slides cars to clear the route to the exit, and Crossword is a quick 5x5 grid.

The home screen lists the day's games as cards, each with its date, such as Tuesday, May 5, and a done mark when finished. Progress and stats stay on your device, with no account needed, and show your streaks and solve patterns.

The app is free. An optional Premium subscription unlocks the archive of earlier puzzles and removes ads where they are enabled. It is made by Luke Duncan and came out on the iPhone App Store on 29 May 2026. Its website shows App Store and Google Play badges, but only the iPhone app is listed so far.

Tips

  • In Weave, look for the groups that hide behind ordinary words, such as words that start the same way.
  • In Scramble, find short words fast, then go back for longer ones before the four minutes run out.
  • Play the 5x5 Crossword across and down together; each answer gives letters to two others.
