on statbox.cc

StatBox shows a real season stat line with the player's name hidden, and you have six guesses to say who it is. There is one puzzle per sport per day for NBA, MLB and NFL, the same for everyone, plus an unlimited mode for practice.
About StatBox
StatBox is a daily player-guessing game for basketball, baseball and American football fans. Each day it picks one mystery player for each of its three leagues and shows a real single-season stat line with the name taken off: points, rebounds and shooting percentages for the NBA, ERA, strikeouts and innings for an MLB pitcher, and so on.
You type any player's name as a guess, picking it from a search list. Each wrong guess unlocks one more clue box under the stat line, such as height, position, age, team and college for the NBA, or position, league, division and team for MLB. A Reveal Initials button gives one more hint. You have six guesses per puzzle.
The NBA pool covers single seasons from 1996 onward, MLB seasons from 1960 onward (daily puzzles use seasons from 2000), and NFL puzzles use quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. The NBA game is the main one; MLB and NFL were marked beta when we looked.
The daily puzzles are free and need no account, and each one is only playable on its own calendar day. A free account keeps streaks, achievements and stats across devices. Unlimited mode serves random players from history, with ten free rounds before a Premium subscription ($1.99 a month or $14.99 a year) unlocks unlimited play, a hard mode and the full history. The site shows no ads.

Tips
- Look at games played and minutes or snaps first: they tell you a starter from a role player.
- Use an early guess on a player from the right era and position to get useful clues.
- The team clue narrows the field quickly, so keep a guess for a player you can place on one team.
- Practise in unlimited mode to learn which clues each sport unlocks first.
