SplitEvens is a free number puzzle with three new boards each day. You tap an even pile and hand its two halves to two neighbouring squares, aiming to fill every target exactly and leave every pile empty. There is no timer, Undo is always free, and past days can be played.
About SplitEvens
SplitEvens is a daily number puzzle from DFrankieJ Productions, the maker of the word game WordTwiq. Its puzzles are numbered, and on 17 October 2026 the day's set was number 29.
Each board is a small grid. Purple squares are piles holding a number, and green squares are targets showing how much they still need, written as 0/3 or 1/2. You pick an even pile, and it splits into two equal halves that go to two of its neighbours. A target that reaches its number is full and takes nothing more, while a plain pile that receives a half can become even and be split in turn. The board is solved when every target is full and every pile is empty.
Three boards open each day at 00:00 UTC: an Easy 3 × 3 warm-up that is unranked, a Medium 4 × 4 and a Hard 4 × 4 that needs more planning. Medium and Hard have separate leaderboards, which you join by signing in; playing needs no account. There is no timer, and Undo costs nothing, so the challenge is the order of splits rather than speed.
Beyond the daily set, a Library holds a five-step Learn course, practice boards, a longer challenge and an archive of past dailies. It suits players who like short number and logic puzzles that reward thinking a few moves ahead.
How to play SplitEvens
- Open today's puzzles and choose Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Tap a purple pile holding an even number.
- Tap two of its neighbouring squares; each one receives half of the pile, and the pile drops to zero.
- Fill each green target to exactly the number it shows; a full target takes nothing more.
- Use piles that received halves and became even to keep splitting, and press Undo whenever a line goes wrong.
- Finish when every target is full and every pile is empty.

Tips
- Work backwards from the targets that need the most: a target needing 3 can only be filled by a split of 6 or by several smaller halves.
- Before splitting, check that both neighbours can still take the half; a full target cannot receive anything.
- Odd piles are not dead ends: send them a half of the right size to make them even.
- Start with the unranked Easy board or the Learn course to see the rules on small grids.
