on spaceword.org

SpaceWord hands everyone the same 21 letter tiles each day. You lay them into one connected block of words reading across and down, and score 100 points a tile plus a bonus for keeping the layout small. A live leaderboard ranks your best score against the other players of the day, and longer weekly and monthly puzzles run alongside.
About SpaceWord
SpaceWord is a browser word game about building a small crossword of your own from a fixed set of letter tiles. Each Daily is dated and gives every player the same 21 tiles, so scores compare directly on that day's leaderboard.
You drag tiles from the rack onto a grid to form valid words across and down, all joined into one block. The score is the number of tiles placed times 100, plus a space bonus of 100 minus the area of the box around your layout. Placing every tile counts most, and a tight layout decides between players who use them all. You can keep reworking the board until the countdown ends, and your best layout is kept.
Beside the Daily there is a Weekly puzzle with 63 tiles and a Monthly with 100, each with its own countdown and ranking. A Previous tab shows your played puzzles, average score, streak and rank achievements. An anonymous account is made when you play so your scores count; logging in lets you choose a username and keep scores across devices. The site shows ads in banner slots beside and below the board.
It suits players who like Bananagrams or Scrabble-style tile placement and enjoy improving a score over the day rather than solving once.

Tips
- Each tile is worth 100 points and the space bonus is at most 100, so place all 21 tiles first and tighten afterwards.
- Short words that cross in both directions pack letters into a small box.
- Awkward letters such as Q, Z and W are worth placing early, in short words, before the board fills.
