The Ribbit board for Oct 27, 2026 on Puzzmo: sixteen letters in a 4 by 4 grid joined by black lines, beside an empty word list and the I'm done button

Ribbit is a daily word game on Puzzmo, launched in May 2026. Sixteen letters sit on a 4 by 4 grid joined by lines, and you trace words of four or more letters along those lines. When every word that uses a letter has been found, the tile becomes a frog, and the goal is a board full of frogs.

About Ribbit

Ribbit arrived on Puzzmo in May 2026 from Zach Gage and the Puzzmo team. Puzzmo's credits list Gage for its design and its puzzles, and Brooke Husic edits it. It is a Boggle-style letter grid with one change: letters are only connected where a line is drawn between them.

The board is sixteen letters in a 4 by 4 grid. Some letters link to several others, some to only one. You drag or tap from letter to letter along the lines, or type on a keyboard, to spell words of four letters or more. A wrong path costs nothing. As you find words, the lines and letters that no other word needs drop off the board, so the grid shrinks and the last words get easier to spot. The longest word of the day is marked with a star.

There is no hint button, which sets Ribbit apart from most Puzzmo games. Your score comes from how quickly you clear the board. If you give up with the I'm done button, you still get a score, lowered for each frog still hidden.

It suits players of Squaredle, Zanagrams and Boggle who like finding every word in a set, and anyone who enjoys a board that gets smaller as they work.

How to play Ribbit

  1. Open today's Ribbit at puzzmo.com/play/ribbit or in the Puzzmo app.
  2. Study the 4 by 4 grid of letters and the lines that join them.
  3. Drag or tap along the lines from letter to letter to spell a word of at least four letters. You can also type it.
  4. Tap the last letter again or press return to submit the word.
  5. Keep finding words while unneeded lines and letters drop away, and look for the starred longest word.
  6. Clear the board to finish, or press I'm done to take a score for where you are.

Tips

  • Letters with many lines are in many words. Work out their common pairings first.
  • A letter with only one line has to start or end its words, which narrows things down.
  • When stuck, search for short four-letter words. Each find can remove lines and make the rest easier to see.
  • Try plurals and common endings such as -ER and -ED where the lines allow.

Questions

Is Ribbit free?

Yes, the daily Ribbit is free on Puzzmo. Puzzmo Plus costs $39.99 a year on puzzmo.com, with a seven-day free trial, or $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year through the iPhone app. It opens the archive of past puzzles and adds bonus puzzles.

What time does the new Ribbit come out?

Puzzmo's day turns over at midnight US Central Time, when the whole daily page, this game included, switches to the next date. Everyone gets the same puzzle for that date.

Does Ribbit have hints?

No. Unlike most Puzzmo games it has no hint button. The board itself helps, since lines and letters no word still needs disappear as you play.

How is Ribbit scored?

By how quickly you clear the board. If you press I'm done before finishing, your score is lowered according to how many frogs are still hidden.
