Quiz of the Day

Quiz of the Day has published a ten-question general knowledge quiz (almost) every day since 2015. Its about page says it remains stubbornly independent. Each quiz has a date, a number and a two-part title such as Dynamos and Dreadnoughts. Most are written by the site itself, and some come from guest setters named on the quiz.

All ten questions sit on one page, each with four answers to choose from. A single day can run from 1960s puppet television and Greek myth to desert geography, the Dunkirk evacuation and Norse gods. When you submit, the site marks your answers, gives a score out of ten and tells you where that score places you among everyone who played that day. The archive lists each day's quiz with its number of attempts and average score, usually above twenty thousand attempts a day.

Beyond the daily quiz there is Quickfire, a separate endless mode with 20 seconds on the clock, where one wrong answer ends the run. Private leagues are made with a code you share, and their standings fill in through the day as members play the same quiz. A Friday newsletter rounds up the week's quizzes.

It suits pub quiz regulars and office groups who want a short mixed quiz each day with a field of other players to measure against.
