on pufferdle.com

Pufferdle is a daily Stardew Valley fishing puzzle. You start by playing the game's fishing bar minigame on the day's mystery fish, using how it moves as a clue, then guess which fish it is in six tries; each guess colours season, weather, location and catch time to show how close you are.
About Pufferdle
Pufferdle is a daily guessing game for Stardew Valley fans, built around the game's fishing. Each day it picks a mystery fish from Stardew Valley and challenges you to work out which one it is.
A round starts in the water: you play Stardew Valley's fishing-bar minigame on the day's fish, and how the fish darts and dives in the bar is itself a clue to its identity. Then you name the fish, with six guesses. Each guess colours a set of attributes, the season, weather, location and catch time, to show how close your pick is to the answer.
The puzzle is the same for everyone each day. Alongside the daily there is a Random mode for extra rounds and a Fish Tank, and the game carries the look of Stardew Valley's own menus. It is fan-made and is not an official Stardew Valley product.
It suits players who know the Stardew Valley fish and their habits, and who enjoy that the fishing minigame gives a hint before the guessing even begins. It runs in the browser and is free.
How to play Pufferdle
- Open pufferdle.com and choose Daily.
- Try to catch the day's fish in the fishing-bar minigame: click to raise the bar, release to lower it, and keep it behind the fish. How hard the fish is to hold is a hint.
- Pick a fish from the grid or type its name, and press Submit.
- Read the colours on each guess: green means the trait matches exactly, yellow that it overlaps, grey that it does not, for season, weather, location and time.
- Name the fish within six guesses; a new fish arrives the next day, and Random gives extra rounds.

Tips
- Watch the fish's movement in the bar: steady, darting or sinking patterns point to particular fish.
- Combine the location and season clues to cut the list of possible fish quickly.
- Legendary and special fish have narrow conditions, so the weather and time clues expose them fast.
- Use Random mode to learn how different fish behave in the minigame before tackling the daily.
Questions
What game is Pufferdle based on?
Stardew Valley, and specifically its fishing.
Do I really play a minigame?
Yes. You play the fishing-bar minigame on the day's mystery fish, and the way it moves is a clue before you start guessing.
How many guesses do I get?
Six, with clues for season, weather, location and catch time after each guess.
Is it free, and is it official?
It is free to play in the browser. It is fan-made and is not an official Stardew Valley product.
Is it the same for everyone?
Yes. The day's fish is chosen from the date, so every player gets the same one that day. Random mode adds rounds that do not count toward the daily.
Can I skip the fishing part?
Yes. The settings have a Skip Fishing Game switch that goes straight to the guesses, and a Hard Mode that hides the traits of fish while you guess.
