Pokémon Connections No. 107 for 22 October 2026: a 4x4 board of Pokémon including Pidgeot, Gengar, Clefairy, Lugia and Necrozma, with Easy to Tricky colour labels

Pokémon Connections is a free fan-made daily puzzle in the style of NYT Connections. Each day at midnight UTC a new numbered board of 16 Pokémon appears, hiding four groups of four drawn from all nine generations. Attempts are unlimited, so the challenge is in the decoys rather than in running out of lives.

About Pokémon Connections

Pokémon Connections takes the grouping puzzle made popular by NYT Connections and fills the board with Pokémon. Each day there are 16 of them, shown with their artwork and names, and four hidden categories link them in fours. A category can be a type, a colour, a shared Pokédex species name such as Poison Pin Pokémon, a generation or something trickier, from any of the nine generations of the games.

You pick four Pokémon you think belong together and submit them. Unlike the newspaper game there is no limit on wrong attempts: a counter at the top only records how many you used, so you can keep trying until all four groups are found. Groups are coloured by difficulty, yellow for the easiest, then green and blue, with purple the trickiest. A Hint button lights up two Pokémon that belong together when you are stuck.

The Daily is numbered and dated (No. 107 fell on 22 October 2026), resets at midnight UTC and is the same for everyone. Under the board you can switch between the Classic board, which has red herrings, and a No-overlap board without decoys, and between Normal and Hard. The day after, a page lists yesterday's answers for both versions.

Classic Daily wins count toward a Monday-to-Sunday weekly leaderboard, with separate streak and level boards, and an optional Google sign-in keeps your progress across devices. An Unlimited mode gives practice boards, players can make and share their own puzzles in the Community section, and the same site runs a daily Pokémon Wordle (Pokédle), a silhouette game and a daily riddle. The screens come in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Indonesian and Japanese. The game is free and shows an ad slot below the board. It is fan-made and not affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or The New York Times.

Tips

  • Solve the group you are most sure of first; it removes decoys from the board.
  • The purple group is usually the trickiest, so leave it for last.
  • Think beyond types: colours, Pokédex species names and generations all turn up as groups.
  • Try the No-overlap board if the Classic decoys are too much, or practise in Unlimited mode.

Questions

Is the puzzle the same for everyone?

Yes. The Daily resets at midnight UTC and is the same for everyone, numbered from No. 1 on 8 July 2026.

How many attempts do I get?

Unlimited; keep trying until you solve all four groups. The counter only records how many you used.

What is No-overlap mode?

A version of the day's board without decoys, so no Pokémon looks as if it fits two groups. Classic keeps the red herrings, and only Classic wins count for the weekly leaderboard.

Do I need an account?

No. Google sign-in is optional and keeps your progress, level and leaderboard results across devices.

Is it an official Pokémon or NYT game?

No. It is a free fan-made game, not affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak or The New York Times.
