Fix The Mix daily challenge No. 1533, 18 October 2026: the clue Farm Animals over five rows of letter boxes with some letters given, a pool of letter tiles, and Hints and Shuffle buttons

Pocket Puzzles is a free set of five daily word games under one date: Fix The Mix, Passcodes, Four Square, String Theory and Letterheads. Each is a numbered daily challenge, the same for every player, played in the browser or the iOS app with no ads and no sign-up.

About Pocket Puzzles

Pocket Puzzles opens on a dated menu of five word games, each a short daily challenge with its own number. It is made by Puzzlelike LLC, and its puzzles are edited by Ron Lee; the site and the iOS app both date from 2024.

Fix The Mix gives a clue and several rows of boxes with a few letters already in place; you fill the rest from one shared pool of letter tiles. On 18 October 2026, challenge No. 1533, the clue was Farm Animals and the rows held five words, with three hints and a shuffle button to help. Passcodes lays out twenty words and a clue such as SPY 3: you pick the words that fit each clue, and revealing the next clue costs a point. Four Square starts from four corner boxes, each with two clue words and a first letter, and every answer you solve feeds the rows that lead to the final word.

String Theory is a themed word search: a grid of letters and a category (Food and Drink on 18 October), where you trace the connected words of a hidden phrase. Letterheads gives seven letters, two of them key letters in blue; every word must use at least one key letter, words using both score more, and you climb ranks from Okay to Megastar, finishing once you reach Great.

Each puzzle has a timer or a score and a short Start Here card that explains it. The site keeps your stats and streaks, and a free account opens an archive of past days. The pages carry no ads. It suits players who want a varied set of quick word puzzles in one place rather than a single game.

How to play Pocket Puzzles

  1. Open the day's menu and choose one of the five puzzles, then press Play Now.
  2. In Fix The Mix, read the clue and fill each row from the pool of letter tiles, keeping the letters already given.
  3. In Passcodes, select the words that fit the current clue and submit them; reveal the next clue only if you need it, at a cost of one point.
  4. In Four Square, solve each corner from its two clue words and first letter, then use those answers to fill the rows to the final word.
  5. In String Theory, drag through letters in any direction to trace the words of the hidden phrase in the category.
  6. In Letterheads, make words from the seven letters, each using at least one blue key letter, until you reach Great.
  7. Come back to the menu for the rest of the day's puzzles.

Tips

  • In Fix The Mix, list likely answers from the clue first and start with the row that has the most letters given.
  • In Passcodes, each revealed clue costs a point, so test your groupings before asking for another.
  • In Letterheads, words that use both key letters score more, and letters can be used more than once.
  • In String Theory, the first letter is marked for you: start from it.
  • Save hints for the last, hardest word of each puzzle.
