Play Kakuro
Rate itA new kakuro every day in easy, medium and hard: digits that add up to every clue.
on playkakuro.com

Play Kakuro publishes one numbered cross-sum puzzle a day at each of three difficulties. Every white cell takes a digit from 1 to 9, every run must add up to the clue beside it, and no digit repeats within a run. It is free with no ads or sign-up, and a calendar archive keeps every past day playable.
About Play Kakuro
Play Kakuro is a site for the cross-sum puzzle that pairs the grid of a crossword with the logic of sudoku. It comes from Ana Puzzle, the studio behind Who Farted, ClueBy, Aura Clue and Word Ladder. Each day it publishes a numbered puzzle, number 658 on 20 October 2026, in easy, medium and hard versions. Every white cell holds a digit from 1 to 9, every run of cells has to add up to the clue in the triangle beside it, and no digit repeats within a run.
The site promises that every puzzle has exactly one solution reachable without guessing, and the grids get harder through the week, with a star rating from 1 to 5 shown above the board. You tap a cell and type a digit or use the number pad under the grid. A wrong digit shows in red and adds to a mistakes counter, three hints are there when you are stuck, and a timer runs while you solve.
The archive is a calendar of every past puzzle, marked solved or in progress, so a missed day can be caught up. The game is free, with no ads, download or sign-up, works the same on a phone and a desktop, and can be played in English, Spanish, Japanese, German, Italian and Portuguese. It suits sudoku players who want a little arithmetic in their logic.
How to play Play Kakuro
- Choose a difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Tap a white cell and type a digit from 1 to 9, or use the number pad under the grid.
- Make every run add up to the clue in the triangle at its start, across or down.
- Never repeat a digit within a run; a wrong digit shows in red and counts as a mistake.
- Use one of your three hints if you are stuck, and complete the grid: every puzzle has one solution.

Tips
- Start with forced combinations: a two-cell run of 3 must be 1 and 2, of 4 must be 1 and 3.
- Cross-check each cell against both its row run and its column run.
- Pencil in candidates before committing, then erase them as crossings rule them out.
- Learn the forced sets for the biggest sums too: a two-cell 17 is always 8 and 9.
