PixelLinkr is a free daily Connections-style puzzle for gamers. Each day's numbered board shows sixteen video game titles, and you find the four groups of four that share a hidden link, with four mistakes to spare and optional hints. It has no ads and needs no account.
About PixelLinkr
PixelLinkr takes the four-by-four grouping puzzle and fills it with video games. A board might mix Gundam Breaker 3, Custom Robo, Dr. Mario and The Long Drive, and the links can be about genre, developer, setting, series, a word in the title or something more sideways, such as titles that put Dr., Ms., Mr. or Professor before a character's name. Categories can overlap, so the obvious group is not always the right one.
You select four titles and submit; correct groups lock in, coloured yellow, green, blue or purple by difficulty from easy to tricky, and each solved group comes with a short trivia note. You have four mistakes in all. A Category Hint names an unsolved group and a Pair Hint marks two titles that belong together, each at the cost of a life. You can tag tiles with colour marks while you think, and a Show covers button swaps the text tiles for box art. Some puzzles touch on story details, so spoilers are blurred until clicked.
The site launched at the end of March 2026 and its changelog shows regular updates since. A new numbered puzzle arrives at midnight, the same for everyone, with a streak calendar, a spoiler-free share card and an archive of past puzzles, where a Challenge a Friend link lets someone replay the same board and compare results. A blog explains each day's categories. There are no ads and no accounts. The same site runs CineLinkr for films. It suits gamers with broad knowledge of PC, console and handheld releases old and new.
How to play PixelLinkr
- Read the sixteen game titles on today's board, or press Show covers to see their box art.
- Select four that you think share a hidden connection and press Submit.
- Correct groups lock in with a colour for their difficulty; a wrong guess costs one of your four mistakes.
- Use a Category Hint or Pair Hint if stuck, each costing a life, and find all four groups to finish.
- Share your result grid, or replay past boards from the archive.

Tips
- Look for titles that could fit two groups and leave them for last.
- Think beyond genre: developers, publishers, settings and words in the title are common links.
- Turn on 'Show covers' if you do not recognise a title from its name.
- Read the blog after solving to see how the categories were built.
- Use the colour marks to park possible groups before you spend a guess.
