Pikadoku
Rate itA harder Pokemon grid: fill nine squares before your HP runs out.
on pikadoku.dentotino.com

Pikadoku is a daily Pokemon grid puzzle by Den Totino, built as a tougher take on PokeDoku. Each of the nine squares needs a Pokemon that fits both its row and column category, such as evolution stage, starter line, generation, regional forms or type matchups. Instead of a few lives you have an HP bar that drops with each wrong guess, and when it runs out the game ends; afterwards you can see the answers and play past days from the archive.
About Pikadoku
Pikadoku is a daily Pokemon grid puzzle by Den Totino, described on its own page as a complex PokeDoku clone. Like PokeDoku it is a three by three grid where each square sits at the crossing of a row category and a column category, and you must name a Pokemon that satisfies both.
The categories range widely: an evolution stage such as final evolution, a starter line that includes first, middle and final forms, a generation or region such as Gen 1 Kanto, dual typing, Pokemon that can evolve with an item, regional forms, and type matchups shown as damage multipliers like two times against one type or no effect against another. You search for a Pokemon by name and place it, and each square can only be used once.
What makes it harder than PokeDoku is the health system. Rather than a handful of lives, you have an HP bar, and a wrong guess reduces it; when the HP is gone the round is over. When you finish, the game shows the answers, including the least common picks, and you can replay earlier puzzles from an archive. A new grid appears at midnight in your own local time rather than a fixed zone. The game is free and carries ads.
It suits Pokemon fans who found PokeDoku too easy and want deeper category knowledge tested, from regional forms to type charts.
How to play Pikadoku
- Open Pikadoku to see the day's three by three grid with a category on each row and each column.
- Pick a square and search for a Pokemon that fits both its row and its column category.
- Place a correct Pokemon in the square; each Pokemon can only be used once.
- Mind your HP bar: a wrong guess lowers it, and the round ends when it runs out.
- Fill as many squares as you can, then see the answers and try past grids from the archive.
Tips
- Start with the square whose two categories are most restrictive, where few Pokemon qualify.
- Watch the type matchup categories: they test the type chart, so know your weaknesses and immunities.
- Aim for less common correct answers if you want a better score, since the game shows the rarest picks.
- Guard your HP by only entering a Pokemon you are confident about, as wrong guesses are costly.
Questions
