Pairdle is a daily word puzzle from Logic Loft Games that works in two-letter chunks. The hidden word is split into pairs, and you choose pairs from a board of tiles to fill its slots. Each guess colours the pairs you placed until you crack the word, and two longer levels follow for players who want more.
About Pairdle
Pairdle started as Pairagrams, a final project for Harvard's CS50 course, and launched publicly in January 2026 as the first game from Logic Loft Games, the small studio founded by Tim Nye. It plays in the browser and in the studio's apps.
Each day's puzzle is a six-letter word, shown as three hidden pairs. Below it sit three slots marked First, Mid and Last, and a board of two-letter tiles such as SW, EN, KI and LA. Older builds showed 24 tiles. The store listings now give 12 pairs for the six-letter word. You place tiles into the slots and press Guess. A pair in the right slot turns blue, one that belongs in another slot turns red, and a pair that is not in the word turns grey, so the puzzle becomes a matter of working out which pairs can sit side by side to make a real word. A hint button and a shuffle button help when you are stuck.
The puzzles are numbered: 3 October 2026 was Pairdle #337. The home screen shows your streak, a countdown to the next puzzle, today's leaderboard, badges and an archive of every past day. Results share as a spoiler-free grid, Two harder levels come out beside it each day. Pairdle Pro hides an eight-letter word among 16 pairs, and Pairdle Expert a ten-letter word among 20. Signing in keeps your streak across devices.
It suits Wordle players who want a different kind of deduction: you think about how words break into chunks rather than which single letters they contain.
How to play Pairdle
- Open today's puzzle; the hidden six-letter word is shown as three pairs.
- Pick two-letter tiles from the board and place them in the First, Mid and Last slots.
- Press Guess. Blue marks a pair in its right slot, red a pair that belongs elsewhere in the word, and grey a pair that is not in it.
- Use what is locked to rule out tiles, and use a hint or shuffle if you need one.
- Solve the word, then check the leaderboard and share your result.

Tips
- Start from the ending: common endings such as ER, ED, LE and NG narrow the Last slot quickly.
- Say candidate words out loud in pairs; it is easier to hear a word that way than to see it in tiles.
- Once one pair is locked, look for tiles that can follow or precede it to form a real syllable.
- Shuffle the board when you stop seeing new combinations.
