on omitten.com

Omitten is a free daily word puzzle where one word has been removed from a set of sentences. You see one sentence at a time and try to name the word that fits all of them, losing points with each extra sentence you need. A new puzzle appears every day at midnight UTC.
About Omitten
Omitten is a small daily guessing game about context. A single word has been omitted from several sentences, and the puzzle is to work out which word fills every gap. The same puzzle is used by every player that day, and a new one appears at midnight UTC.
You start with one sentence, worth 100 points. Type a guess and submit it: if you are right the game ends with your points; if you are wrong you move on to the next sentence automatically. You can also skip ahead without guessing. Each move to a new sentence, by a wrong guess or a skip, costs 25 points.
After four sentences you reach your last chance, and a wrong answer then ends the day with zero points. When the day is done, a results card shows your points as a row of emoji you can copy or share, along with your statistics and streak. Progress is kept in the browser with no sign-up, and a free account keeps it across devices.
Omitten suits players who like fill-in-the-blank puzzles and spotting how one word can work in very different sentences. It takes a couple of minutes a day.
How to play Omitten
- Open omitten.com and read the first sentence, with a gap where the hidden word was.
- Type the word you think fills the gap and press Submit Guess.
- If you are wrong, the next sentence appears and your score drops by 25; you can also press Next Clue to skip without guessing.
- Look for one word that fits every sentence shown so far.
- After four sentences you have one last chance: a wrong answer then ends the day with 0 points.
- Copy or share your result card, then come back after midnight UTC for the next word.

Tips
- Look for words with several meanings; the sentences often use the word in different senses.
- Skipping costs the same as a wrong guess, so guess when you have a real candidate.
- On the last sentence, check your word fits every earlier one before submitting.
