Mercatle: Daily Geography Game
Rate itSix label-free satellite views a day: pin each place on the globe, then answer trivia to double the round.
on apps.apple.com

Mercatle shows you six real places a day from above, with no labels or street names. You tap a 3D globe where you think each one is, scoring more the closer you land, then a trivia question about the place can double that round. Scores go on a global leaderboard, and the daily is free on iPhone, iPad and Android.
About Mercatle: Daily Geography Game
Mercatle is a daily geography game for iPhone, iPad and Android built on satellite imagery. Each round crops a tight view of a real place, such as a capital city, a stadium, an island, an airport, a lake or a natural wonder, with every label removed.
It is made by TiddlyTech, came to the App Store at the end of June 2026 and to Google Play later in the year, and has had regular updates since; version 1.1.2 added more cities, landmarks and football grounds to the daily, and makes every day mix well-known places with harder ones.
The Daily has six rounds. You study the picture, then tap once on a spinning globe to drop your guess; a line runs from your pin to the true spot, and points fall off with distance, up to 1,000 per round. Zooming the satellite view out gives a hint but lowers that round's maximum. A trivia question about the place follows, and a right answer doubles the round, so the best possible day is 12,000 points. Streaks, stats and badges track your progress, and the global leaderboard compares your total with other players.
Beside the daily, a free Game Lab holds small extra games: State Gauntlet, Hunt and Tap the Country. A Pro subscription ($1.99 a month or $14.99 a year in the US App Store) adds themed categories such as World Capitals, Airports, Racing Circuits, Bridges, Dams and Theme Parks with easy, medium and hard settings, a 30-day archive of past dailies, private groups, head-to-head duels with friends and regional leaderboards.
Where most satellite dailies ask you to name one city, Mercatle asks for a pin on the globe six times and adds a quiz question to each place. It suits map fans who like reading landscapes, coastlines and city layouts more than flags or outlines.
How to play Mercatle: Daily Geography Game
- Open Mercatle and start Today's Daily.
- Study the label-free satellite view of the round's place; zoom out for a hint only if you need it, since it lowers the round's maximum.
- Tap the globe once to drop your guess; closer guesses score more, up to 1,000 points.
- Answer the multiple-choice trivia question about the place to double the round's score.
- Play all six rounds and check your total on the leaderboard.

Tips
- Look at roads, rooftops and vegetation: building styles and driving layouts narrow the region quickly.
- Only zoom out if you are truly stuck, since it cuts the most you can score.
- The trivia doubles your distance score, so a close pin matters before the question.
