Mathle is a daily equation-guessing game by Kiru. You have five tries to find a hidden addition or subtraction, every guess must itself be a valid equation, and coloured tiles show which digits and signs are in the right place.
About Mathle
Mathle is a small daily number puzzle made by Kiru, who says it is heavily inspired by Wordle and Primel. It has been online since early 2022 and has editions in English, French, German, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Chinese, each at its own address.
Each day there is one numbered puzzle (number 1728 on 18 October 2026), the same for everyone: a hidden equation of the form a + b = c or a - b = c, where c is positive. You fill in five tiles on the left (two digits, a sign, two digits) and three on the right for the result, which can start with a zero, and the guess must be mathematically correct. Keys for digits and signs ruled out turn grey on the keypad. Green marks a digit or sign in the correct position, yellow a digit that is in the solution but in another spot, and grey a digit that does not appear at all. A colourblind mode switches to other colours.
You have five tries. After the round you can copy a grid of coloured squares to share, and a countdown shows when the next Mathle is published.
It suits players who like Wordle but would rather reason with digits than letters.
The page carries Google ads and a privacy consent box on first visit, but neither covers the board, and the game needs no account.
How to play Mathle
- Open mathlegame.com, or the edition in your language.
- Type a two-digit number, a plus or minus sign and another two-digit number on the keypad, then the three-digit result, for example 47 + 18 = 065.
- Press Enter: the guess has to be a correct equation.
- Read the colours: green is the right digit or sign in the right place, yellow is in the equation elsewhere, grey is not in it.
- Find the exact equation within five tries, then copy the coloured grid to share it.

Tips
- Your first guess should use as many different digits as possible.
- Check the sign early: knowing whether it is plus or minus narrows the result a lot.
- Every guess must add up, so use the arithmetic to rule out digit positions.
- Watch the keypad: keys that turn grey are out of the answer, so you need not try them again.
