Names must not overlap: list bear and then polar bear, and the second earns no point or extra time, though a second distinct kind of bear still counts. Order does not matter, so you can work through birds, then fish, then insects, as your memory allows. Settings let you change the starting time and the time added per animal, switch off the moving backgrounds, or show your mistakes.

The daily challenge narrows the field: on the day's puzzle, not every animal is eligible, and you have to work out what fits. Replaying a daily challenge is a supporter feature. At the end you can copy an emoji summary or your full list. It suits anyone who likes list quizzes in the style of Sporcle, with a single daily twist to share.

The daily challenge follows a fixed calendar written into the game. Mondays are for mammals and Thursdays for arthropods. Sundays bring birds, and Saturdays switch between a short half-time round and a run to name 100 animals. The other days take their rule from the date of the month, such as beetles, primates, dinosaurs or a word chain where each animal starts with the last letter of the one before. On 31 October a Halloween round hides the timer until the last moments. Wrong guesses get a short reason, such as Not an arthropod.
