World Cup Links is LinkyGrid's daily football ring. Today's board shows six players such as Jules Koundé, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, and you draw a line between every pair who played with or against each other in a World Cup match.
About LinkyGrid World Cup Links
LinkyGrid is a small site of daily connection puzzles built on countries, films, footballers and Wikipedia topics. Its Link Puzzles draw every hidden connection between a set of cards, and its Grid Puzzles ask you to arrange cards so neighbours share a link. World Cup Links is the football one of the Link Puzzles: a ring of player cards, each with a photo and a nation, and a counter in the middle that shows how many links are hidden.
Press one player and drag to another to say they shared a World Cup pitch, as team-mates or opponents. A correct link stays drawn and is listed under Found Links, a wrong one counts as a miss, and a Hint button lights up a player who still has a link to find. A timer runs beside the board and can be hidden.
Each day has an Easy and a Hard board, the same for every player, with a new set at midnight in your browser's time zone. You can play as a guest; an account adds statistics and a place on the leaderboard.
It suits football fans who know their tournament history more than their club transfers. LinkyGrid's other link modes use Wikipedia articles, countries and films in the same ring, so a player who likes one has more to try the same day.

Tips
- Start with players from the same nation: team-mates at one World Cup are the easiest links.
- Think of famous knockout matches, such as finals and quarter-finals, to find links between nations.
- Use Hint when stuck: it lights up a player who still has a link left.
- Switch to Hard once Easy feels quick.
