level is a daily balancing puzzle. Each day brings two sets of twelve things, a Classic and a Hard, each sharing a figure you cannot see, such as a world record time or a country's exports. You put four on each side of a scale, weigh up to three times to check, and lock in a split as close to 50/50 as you can.
About level
level is a browser puzzle at leveldaily.app, run by Faizan Raza and launched in October 2026, with puzzle No. 1 on 15 October. Every day at midnight UTC it puts out two puzzles, a Classic and a Hard, and every player gets the same ones. It is free, has no ads and needs no sign-up.
Each puzzle names a measure and lays twelve things on the bench. On 26 October the Classic asked for the times of twelve men's world records, from the 50 m freestyle to the mile and a Rubik's Cube solve, and the Hard for how much meat people eat a year in twelve countries. Earlier days balanced the weights of everyday objects, the fat in foods, the blue in flags and how far landmarks are from Dubai. You place four things on Side A and four on Side B; the other four sit out and do not count. The aim is to make the two sides' hidden totals as even as you can.
You have three weighs per puzzle. A weigh tips the scale toward the heavier side and tells you whether you are warmer or colder than your last try, so you can swap things and test again. Two hunches each reveal one thing's hidden figure, and a calculator sits at the top of the board. When you lock in, the game shows the true figures and ranks your split as a top percentage of all the ways the eight could be chosen, with a medal.
Finishing both puzzles earns the daily double sticker, and other stickers reward things like a top result with no weighs. Results can be shared as text or as an image card, and your record keeps your streak on the device. Past days can be played from the archive as practice that does not touch your streak, each day has an answers page with the best split, and a Sources page names the data behind each puzzle, mostly the World Bank, the USDA and Wikidata.
level suits players who like estimation games about real-world figures but want some trial and error and a bit of arithmetic rather than a single guess.
How to play level
- Open leveldaily.app and choose the Classic or the Hard puzzle for today.
- Read the measure at the top, such as the time of a world record or the meat eaten in a country.
- Tap a thing on the bench, then press Side A or Side B, until each side holds four; the four left over sit out.
- Tap a placed thing and move it to the other side or back to the bench to change the split.
- Press Weigh it to see each side's share of the total and whether you are warmer or colder than before; you have three weighs.
- If you are stuck, press Hunch and then a thing to see its hidden figure; you have two.
- Press Lock in when you are happy with the split to see the true figures, your medal and your rank.

Tips
- Put the thing you think is largest on one side and balance it with two or three mid-sized ones on the other.
- The four that sit out matter: leave out the outliers you are least sure about.
- Use a hunch on the thing you are least sure of, not on one you already know roughly.
- Change only one or two things between weighs so you can tell what moved the scale.
Questions
What time does level reset?
Both puzzles change at 00:00 UTC each day.
How many puzzles are there a day?
Two: a Classic and a Hard. Finishing both earns the daily double sticker.
Do I need an account?
No. The puzzles play in the browser with no sign-up, and your record is kept on your device. The game has no ads.
Can I play past puzzles?
Yes. The Past puzzles page keeps every finished day, playable as practice that does not change your streak or record, and each day has an answers page with the best split.
What does the rank mean?
Your split is ranked against every possible way of choosing the eight things and their sides, by how close the two shares come to 50/50, so top 1% means very few splits beat yours.
