Landmarkd shows a photo of a famous building or landmark each day, from the Great Wall of China to the Library of Celsus. You search by name or country and have five guesses, with a hint after each wrong one or skip, and share your result with your time.

About Landmarkd

Landmarkd is a daily photo game about famous landmarks and buildings. Each day there is one structure, the same for everyone, shown in a photo that starts zoomed in on a small detail, and your job is to name it.

You type into a box that lets you search by the landmark's name or by its country, and you have five tries. Each wrong guess, or a skip, reveals a hint (such as the kind of structure) and zooms the photo out, so a skyline or monument you did not place at first becomes clearer as you go. A difficulty label, such as Medium, flags how tricky the day's landmark is.

When you finish you can share your result with your solving time, and your stats are kept in the browser. There is no account.

It suits travellers and architecture fans who like recognising skylines and monuments, and anyone who enjoys a quick daily visual puzzle.

Look at the day's close-up landmark photo and note its difficulty label.
Search by the landmark's name or its country and submit a guess.
If you are wrong, read the hint and either skip or guess again; the photo zooms out each time.
Name the landmark within five guesses.
Share your result and time when you finish.

Tips

If the building itself is unfamiliar, guess by country first to narrow the region.
Skip early when you have no idea: it still widens the photo without wasting a real guess on a wild stab.
Look for tell-tale details like a distinctive spire, dome or skyline shape before the photo fully zooms out.
