Inlay is Nerdcube's daily pentomino puzzle. Each day shows a target shape and a set of pentomino pieces, and you rotate and place the pieces until the shape is filled with no gaps. It is free in the browser, with no ads, no sign-up and an archive of past days.
About Inlay (Nerdcube)
Inlay sets one tiling puzzle a day. The board shows an outline, the target shape, and below it a set of pentominoes, pieces made from five squares joined edge to edge. Your job is to fill the shape completely using the given pieces.
You tap a piece to pick it up, tap it again to rotate it, and tap the board to place it. Pieces cannot overlap or stick out of the shape, so the puzzle is in finding the arrangement that leaves no gaps, usually by fixing the awkward corners first.
Nerdcube Daily is a small set of daily browser puzzles: Dabble builds high-scoring words on a daily board, Carom slides pieces to a goal in the fewest moves, Inlay fills a shape with pentominoes, Trio finds groups of shapes in the style of Set, and Jumble is a timed word search on a letter grid. Each one has a new puzzle every day, the same for every player, and they are free in the browser.
It suits players who like Tetris-style shape fitting and calm spatial puzzles.
