on hemiscope.com

Hemiscope is the flagship game of the Hemiscope collection: one mystery country a day, found in six guesses. Each guess tells you the distance and direction to the answer and compares region, population, area, flag colours and whether it is landlocked, with the guesses lit up on a 3D globe.
About Hemiscope
Hemiscope, the game that gave the collection its name, is a daily country-guessing puzzle from Kyro Game Studios. Each numbered daily hides one country, the same for every player, worked out from the date and drawn from country facts that start from the public restcountries.com dataset and are corrected by hand.
You type a country to guess. Each wrong guess shows how far away the answer is and in which direction, and compares your country with the mystery one on region, population, area, flag colours and whether it is landlocked: green is a match, amber is close, red is wrong, and an arrow says whether the answer is bigger or smaller. Your guesses are outlined on a globe beside the table. The screen counts your guesses (Guess 1 of 6), and you can give up to see the answer. Puzzles up to 19 October 2026 gave eight guesses; from the 20 October puzzle the game gives six.
It is one of eight daily games on Hemiscope, a free collection of short geography and history puzzles that also includes Atlas, Pinpoint, Timeline, Ladder, Vault and Odd One Out. Each game gets a new puzzle every day. You can play in the browser or in the free iPhone app, which adds live duels against friends and an endless Survival mode. Progress is kept on the device you play on.
It suits players of Worldle and Countryle who like to combine a direction arrow with other country facts.
