Halved is a free daily cutting game from Freehand. A 3D object sits on a wooden bench, a carrot, a bottle, a baseball bat, and you place one cut so the two pieces weigh the same. Five objects a day, one cut each, each scored out of 10 on a balance scale.
About Halved (Freehand)
Halved is one of six daily judgement games on Freehand, alongside Angled, Dropped, Balanced, Counted and Timed. Each one tests your eye rather than what you know.
Here the test is mass. An object appears in 3D on a wooden bench, with a note on what it is made of, such as solid all through and one material. You slide a cutting plane along it, can turn the object to see it from another side, and commit. The catch is that halfway along the length is almost never halfway by weight: the wide end holds most of the material, so the right cut usually sits closer to the thick end than you first think.
After each cut the two pieces drop onto a balance scale, which shows both weights in grams and how uneven they are, and the round is scored out of 10. There are five objects a day, the same five for everyone, one attempt at the set, and a total out of 50. A first visit starts with a short coached round. Scores go to a daily and weekly leaderboard under an automatic animal name, with no account, and a Play with friends button sets up a challenge for people you choose.
It suits players who like quick tests of the eye such as cutting and angle games, and takes a minute or two a day. The site has no ads and is supported by tips.
How to play Halved (Freehand)
- Open Halved and press Play under the day's date.
- Read the object's name and what it is made of.
- Slide the cut line along the object to where you think the weight splits evenly; press Turn to see it from another angle.
- Press Commit to cut and watch the two pieces weighed on the scale.
- Press Next round and do the same for the rest of the day's five objects, then check your total out of 50.

Tips
- Move the cut toward the thicker end: that is where most of the weight sits.
- Picture the volume on each side, not the length; a narrow neck adds little.
- Use the material note: an object that is not one material all through will not split where its shape suggests.
Questions
How many objects are there in Halved each day?
Five, with one cut each, the same five for everyone. Each round is scored out of 10, for a total out of 50.
Is Halved about length or weight?
Weight. The two pieces have to weigh the same, which is rarely the same as cutting at half the length.
Is Halved free?
Yes. All six Freehand games are free to play in the browser, with no account and no ads.
