Name the day's mystery footballer in eight guesses, in 18 league pools.

on gridsport.games

Football Wordle, Big 5 Leagues pool on Oct 20, 2026: three guesses (Kane, Bellingham, Mbappe) with league, club, country and position tiles in green or red, 3 of 8 used

Football Wordle on GridSport.Games picks a mystery footballer every day at 05:00 UTC for each of 18 pools, from the Big 5 Leagues mix to the Premier League, the Brasileirao and the J1 League. You search for players, and each guess shows in green or red whether league, club, country and position match. You have eight tries.

About Football Wordle (GridSport)

GridSport.Games is a football quiz site with three daily formats, Football Grid, Football Bingo and Football Wordle, made by Qubit10 and also available as an Android app. Football Wordle is its guess-the-player game, and despite the name it works on player attributes rather than letters.

Each puzzle is dated, and a fresh one starts for every pool at 05:00 UTC. There are 18 pools: Big 5 Leagues, Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Super Lig, Eredivisie, Primeira Liga, Ekstraklasa, Russian Premier League, Super League Greece, Liga I, Brasileirao, Liga Argentina, Saudi Pro League, K League 1 and J1 League, so a football fan can play up to 18 a day. The mystery player is always an outfield player with five or more appearances in the current season (early in a season, last season's appearances count too), which keeps the answers to players people have seen recently.

You type a name into the search box and pick a player from the suggestions, which show his club, league badge, position and flag. The row that comes back has four columns, league, club, country and position, each green if it matches the mystery player and red if not. You have eight guesses, a Give Up button if you are stuck, and Share and Replay once a puzzle is done. The site can send notifications when new challenges drop.

The game can be played in 18 languages, from English and Spanish to Japanese, Korean and Arabic. It suits fans of one league who want its own daily puzzle, and anyone who wants a harder pool such as the Ekstraklasa, the K League 1 or the Liga Argentina.

How to play Football Wordle (GridSport)

  4. Narrow it down with each guess.
  5. Find the player within eight guesses, then try another pool.

Tips

  • In a single-league pool, guess first by position and country, since the league is already known.
  • A green club tile with eight guesses left: list that club's outfield regulars and work through them.
  • Only outfield players with five or more appearances this season can be the answer, so leave out goalkeepers.
