Fields is a daily logic grid from Inkwell Games. Colour every cell blue or green to build regions, called fields, each containing one number that gives its size; fields of the same colour may only touch at corners, and some numbers are hidden as question marks.
About Fields (Inkwell Games)
Fields is one of the daily puzzles at Inkwell Games, a small studio that reworks classic pen-and-paper logic games for the browser. It is a two-colour cousin of Fillomino.
The grid shows numbered cells in blue or green. You colour every remaining cell blue or green so that the board splits into fields: connected regions of one colour that each contain exactly one number, equal to the number of cells in the field. Two fields of the same colour may not share an edge, only a corner. Some fields are marked with a question mark, so you have to work out their size from the cells around them.
There is one dated puzzle each day and a weekday selector, with difficulty rising across the week. Undo, Hint and Check buttons help, and a timer tracks your solve. The daily is free with no sign-up and no ads. A subscription keeps past weeks open (the archive goes back to November 2025), lets you replay a puzzle and adds a highlighter for notes. Inkwell's FAQ says the puzzle type dates from around 2014 and is also known as Light and Shadow, and that every grid has exactly one solution.
It suits fans of Fillomino, Nurikabe and other region-building puzzles, and anyone who liked LinkedIn's daily logic games and wants something meatier.

- Tap an empty cell once to colour it blue, again for green, to grow fields from the numbered cells.

Tips
- Cells between two same-coloured fields that are already full must take the other colour.
- A field that has reached its size is closed: colour its neighbours the opposite colour.
- Start the week on Monday's easier grid to learn the patterns.
