FF14dle is a free daily guessing game for Final Fantasy XIV players. Its Character mode compares each guess with the day's hidden character, marking exact and partial matches and whether the answer is higher or lower, and Icon, Map and Music modes add more daily puzzles. A spoiler filter limits answers to the expansions you have played.
About FF14dle
FF14dle is built for the community of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix's online role-playing game. Its main mode, Character, asks you to name the day's character; each guess is compared on several traits, with tiles for an exact match, a partial match or no match, and arrows that show whether the answer's value is lower or higher. Icon, Map and a Music mode in beta give three more daily puzzles drawn from the game's art, places and soundtrack.
Because Final Fantasy XIV's story runs through several expansions, the game asks you first to pick the latest expansion you have reached, a spoiler filter that keeps later characters out of your answers. Puzzles reset at midnight, statistics track games played and streaks per mode, and a Share all results button gathers the day's results.
It is a fan project and plays free in the browser.
How to play FF14dle
- Open FF14dle and pick a mode, starting with Character.
- Choose the latest expansion you have played in the spoiler filter.
- Type a character's name and compare the coloured tiles and arrows with the hidden answer.
- Narrow it down until you find the character, then try Icon, Map and Music.
- Share all results and come back after midnight.

- Set the spoiler filter honestly; it also shrinks the pool and makes the puzzle easier.
- Use the higher and lower arrows to pin numeric traits before guessing names at random.
- For Map, look for the zone's colour palette and architecture before its landmarks.
