EraPin
Rate itFive photos from history a day: pin where it happened and set the year.
on erapin.com

EraPin shows you a real historical photograph from Wikipedia and asks where and when it was taken. Each day's dossier has five rounds, each worth up to 5,000 points for the pin and the year. Two clue cards stay hidden unless you open them, and leaving both shut earns a bonus.
About EraPin
EraPin is a daily where-and-when game built on historical events. Each round shows a photograph from Wikipedia. You drop a pin on a world map, by searching for a city or tapping the map, and then set the year on a scrolling timeline or type it in.
Location and year are each worth up to 2,500 points, so a round is worth 5,000 and a day of five rounds 25,000 before bonuses. Two clue cards sit under the photo, one for when and one for where, blurred until you tap them. Solving a round with no clue open earns 500 extra points. The first clue you open in a round is free, and later ones, such as a circle on the map or a ten-year bracket, take points off. After each round the real place and year are shown with a link to the Wikipedia article.
The dossier is the same for everyone on a given date, and the events span centuries. On 26 October 2026 the five ran from Rio de Janeiro in 2014 back to Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620. Your streak is kept in the browser, and a player code restores it on another device. After the fifth round you can see the day's ranking and a country ranking, challenge a friend to the same set, or open the archive of the last two weeks.
The site also runs a classroom mode where teachers pick packs of events by period or course and students join with a room code. It is separate from the daily. EraPin suits players of WhenTaken and TimeGuessr who like to reason from written clues as well as from the picture.

Tips
- Vehicles, clothing, signs and the coastline in the photo narrow both the place and the date.
- Open a clue only when you are lost. The first one is free, but any clue gives up the no-clue bonus.
- Save your player code if you play on more than one device, so your streak follows you.
- Missed a day? The archive keeps the last 14 dossiers.
