Double Up is a daily number game from Ponder Club. You drop numbered blocks into four columns, and a block that lands on an equal one merges into their double, which can set off more merges. Everyone gets the same sequence each day, so scores line up on a daily leaderboard.
About Double Up
Double Up is one of the free daily games on Ponder Club, a puzzle site from Flying Comet Games. It takes the doubling of 2048 and puts it on a falling-block board: four columns, six rows, and a queue that shows the next two blocks.
You tap a column, or press A, S, D or F on a keyboard, to drop the next block. It falls to the lowest empty space. When it lands on a block with the same number, the two merge into one block of double the value, and that new block can merge again, so one drop can set off a chain. A few undos and clears help when the board gets tight, and the run ends when there is no room left.
Everyone plays the same sequence each day, which resets at midnight Pacific Time, so the daily leaderboard compares like with like; there is an all-time board and streaks too. Past days can be played from a calendar archive. No account is needed to play. The site shows ads and sells a one-time purchase that removes them.
It suits players of 2048 and Threes who want one fixed run a day to measure themselves against.
How to play Double Up
- Open Double Up on Ponder Club; the day's board loads empty with the next two blocks shown above it.
- Tap a column, or press A, S, D or F, to drop the next block; it falls to the lowest empty space.
- Drop a block onto one with the same number to merge them into their double; the new block can merge again.
- Use the undos and clears when a drop would block the board.
- Keep going until no block fits, then compare your score on the daily leaderboard.

Tips
- Look at both blocks in the queue before choosing a column.
- Blocks side by side do not merge, so stack each column toward one value rather than spreading equal numbers across the row.
- Keep one column for small blocks so new 2s always have somewhere to merge.
- Save your undos for moves that would end the run.
