Dobdodle

Dobdodle takes its name from date of birth and date of death. Each daily challenge shows a card for when and where someone was born, another for when and where they died, and a world map with a pin for each and a line between them. From that alone you type who you think it is.

You get five guesses, a hint button if you need it, and the puzzle is marked as the same for everyone that day. Once you solve it, the answer card shows the person's photo and a short description, how you did against everyone who played that day, a countdown to the next puzzle and a button to share your result. The daily page also shows the person's category, such as Leaders and Politicians or Historical Figures.

Beside the daily there is Unlimited, five people with five guesses each whenever you like, and Rapid fire, sixty seconds with one guess per person. You can also pick a category, from actors and artists to scientists and writers.

The people are drawn from Wikipedia and Wikidata and ranked by page views, so the answers are well known rather than obscure. It was made by Max Bridgland and suits players who like history, biographies and map clues.
