Deduce

on seqle.vercel.app

Deduce is a daily logic puzzle from the makers of Seqle. A path of tiles is hidden on a grid, along with a rule that transforms it, such as a mirror, a rotation or a reversal. You trace guesses and read colour feedback against both the original and transformed path, then make one final answer naming the path and the rule.
About Deduce
Deduce sits next to Seqle on the same site and uses the same grid of labelled tiles (A1, A2 and so on). Each day a path is generated from the UTC date, together with one of seven rules: classic (unchanged), three kinds of mirror, a 90 or 180 degree rotation, or reversal. Everyone playing the same size gets the same path and rule, and the puzzle is numbered from the start of 2025.
You tap adjacent tiles to trace a guess as long as the grid is wide and submit it. Each feedback row grades your guess against both the original path and the transformed path, colouring the tiles. You get six guesses to gather clues on the three smaller grids and seven on the 7x7 and 8x8 boards. The game tells you when you have found the original path. Then you open Submit Answer and pick the original path plus the rule, with only one attempt.
The difficulty menu runs from Easy (4x4) through Medium, Hard and Expert to Master (8x8), each with its own daily puzzle, and there are tips, a how-to-play guide, streaks and a result to share. A clue map under the board shows, for the original and the transformed path, what every guess so far has told you. There are no ads and no sign-up; a Buy Me a Coffee button lets players tip the maker. It suits players who like Wordle-style feedback but want a spatial deduction puzzle instead of words.
How to play Deduce
- Choose a difficulty from the menu: Easy (4x4) up to Master (8x8).
- Tap adjacent tiles to trace a path of the required length, then press Submit.
- Read the colours: each guess is graded against both the original and the transformed path.
- Use your feedback guesses to pin down the hidden path and the rule that changes it. You get six on the smaller grids and seven on Expert and Master.
- Open Submit Answer and enter the original path and the rule; you get one attempt.

Tips
- Compare the two feedback grades: tiles that score on one path but not the other hint at the rule.
- Rotations and mirrors move tiles in predictable ways, so test guesses near the grid's edges and centre.
- A reversal keeps the same tiles in the opposite order, so watch position feedback rather than tile choice.
- Start on the 4x4 grid to learn the rules before trying the larger sizes.
Questions
Is it the same puzzle for everyone?
Yes. The path and rule are generated from the UTC date and the grid size, so a new puzzle starts at midnight UTC wherever you are and everyone at that size shares it.
How many guesses do I get?
Six feedback guesses on the 4x4, 5x5 and 6x6 grids and seven on the 7x7 and 8x8 grids. After those you give one final answer.
What rules can transform the path?
Classic (unchanged), three mirrors, rotation by 90 or 180 degrees, and reversal.
