DailyMetro London is a daily Wordle-style game about the London Underground. Type any station and the game colours its lines, the direction to the target, the length of its name and its zone green, orange or red, guiding you to the day's station in eight guesses. Map and Photo rounds follow the Classic one each day.
About DailyMetro London
DailyMetro is a set of free browser games, one per city, made by Eliott, an engineer who builds them in his spare time. The London edition covers the London Underground and is shown in English, like the local version of the game.
Each day has one hidden station and a day number, the same for everyone, and you have eight guesses to find it. You start with any station you like. For each guess the board shows four clues: the lines it is on, an arrow pointing from your guess toward the target, the number of letters in its name with an arrow for longer or shorter, and its zone or district. Each clue turns green for a match, orange for a partial match or red for a miss.
Classic is the first of three rounds a day: a Map round plays the day on a map of the network and a Photo round shows a station entrance. A Normal difficulty gives more hints, while Connoisseur swaps in harder clues such as traffic and name origins. Past days can be replayed and no account is needed. The game is free and carries ads (a bottom banner, side rails on wide screens and a video on phones).
It suits locals and transit fans who know their network by heart, as well as visitors who want to learn it one station at a time.
How to play DailyMetro London
- Open DailyMetro London and choose Normal or Connoisseur difficulty.
- Type the name of any station in the Classic round to make your first guess.
- Read the clues: lines, direction to the target, number of letters and zone, each coloured green, orange or red.
- Use the arrow and shared lines to pick a station closer to the target; from the fourth guess the game shows you the line.
- Find the station within eight guesses, then go on to the Map and Photo rounds and share your result.
